What is Krill Science Hub?

Krill Science Hub is a public knowledge platform created and maintained by Aker Qrill Company (AQC) to collect and share reliable scientific information concerning the Antarctic krill biomass and its ecosystem. Our goal is to make peer-reviewed research on Antarctic krill easily accessible to anyone wanting to know more about this topic.
The team:
The Science Hub Team consists of key AQC staff across the policy and impact, sustainability and communications teams.
Our method:
We have systematically collected and curated two decades of research (2005–2025) covering krill biomass, its ecosystem, and the environmental impacts of harvesting. We are committed to making this information accessible and understandable to a wide audience. Therefore, each entry includes a summary and a “key findings” section to help identify relevant insights. With the assistance of AI tools, these summaries are drafted by our team.
We welcome feedback, comments and suggestions on science to be reviewed. Anyone wishing to provide feedback, can contact the editors of the Science Hub
